Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? (Galatians 4:16 KJV)
Since our lives speak so much louder than our mouths, sometimes the very presence of a born again believer can cause others to feel uncomfortable, restless and even hateful. Peacemakers we are called to be, but conformists? Nay. In quiet confidence is our strength.
Our Heavenly Father said,
For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.___ Isaiah 30:15 KJV
Confidence that the Word of God is the truth. We have a Surety that the Word of God is unchanging and everlasting.
The last couple of years I have heard and seen the effects of believers whose love for a lost soul did not rise above their need for approval, nor their fear of rejection. I have seen the results of selfish ungodly desires outweigh obeying God’s instruction to deny fleshly desires. I have seen pride conquer the humility it takes to seek help.
Hey, where is that anesthesia, unbelievers equate with Christianity? Our endurance, our patience is built in firy furnaces. Today, it is in office cubicles, family sedans and SUV’s and even church pews.
This is not a warning , but a call to preparation because our strength lies in our convictions. And convictions are not set in the heat of the moment. Convictions are made in the stillness of our hearts and minds. Brother, Sister can you stand the heat. . . .I mean hate?
