It is so easy to be Christian by default. It is so easy to wear a label but not share the same values or character. Jesus was clear that He acted in relationship with His (Our) Father; that He acted as God does. Their characters are the same. Bottom Line: Christian = Christ-like
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.__John 5:19 KJV
But when He lived on earth, as a man, Jesus experienced the same emotions of that we do. This is most evident when we read the account in the Garden of Gethsame just before Jesus was arrested. The Bible says that He knelt and prayed:
“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done..”__ Luke 22L42 KJV
A line is crossed when we deny our flesh. _________________ This is the line that establishes that we are Christ-followers. When we press pass our own desires and choose to trust that what God has said in His Word or what He has told us to do__ is best, then we are___ nevertheless____ Christians.
