For those lovers of Seinfeld, you probably recognize the line as a “go to” line of the character George when he is dumping a girlfriend. Until one day, the shoe is on the other foot and a girlfriend uses it on him! George says, “I invented ‘It’s not you, it’s me!’” lol
As I woke up this morning to the rhyming chirps and tweets of the birds, I was reminded that God provides for them.
Jesus said, Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?__Matthew 6:26 NIV
When we realize that we can’t make our own hearts beat; that we can’t make the synapses fire in our own unseen brains, then we understand that we can’t control all of the circumstances of life. Then I imagined that George’s line is an appropriate reply to us (me) you when we face adversity and/or need strength, encouragement, health , provision, peace of mind, wisdom, etc. In answer to our prayers, God grants us His Amazing Grace. And God says to His child: It’s not you, it’s me!
