Valentine’s Day is such a beautiful concept: A day to express love and celebrate love. God is the original lover. He created Eve for Adam and presented her to him. Eve was an expression of God’s love and care for Adam.
And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.__ Genesis 2:18 KJV . . .
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh__ Genesis 2:21-24 KJV
Aaah romantic love. The appeal of the first couple is more pragmatic to me . It is that Our Father, God who created Adam from the dust, chose to take a part of Adam to fashion his mate creating a likeness, a connection that resulted in an unprecedented union.
But the love story didn’t stop there:
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.__ Romans 5:8 KJV
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.__ John 15:13 KJV
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. __ Romans 38-39 KJV
We are loved. We are loved eternally. We are loved with daily provision. We are loved with daily protection. We are loved with God’s presence and guidance with the ever-present Holy Spirit. Happy Valentine’s Day!
