In the mouth of a child, “what if ” is a phrase of hope and discovery. But those same two words become an ominous taunt in the mind of a soul living in uncertainty. Negative thoughts are tools of our enemy used to create doubt. Martin Luther is credited with saying “You can’t stop birds from flying over your head, but you can keep them from making a nest in your hair.” lol
Paul writes to the Corinthians ( and to us ) as to what we are to do with those fiery darts of doubt:
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV)
The battle truly is in the mind. A soul at sea , a soul in a storm needs and anchor–The Word of God
When I think “what if ” . . .the Bible says:
- What if I don’t have enough . . .

- What if I get sick . . .
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.__ Isaiah 53:5 KJV

- What if I lack confidence. . .
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? __Romans 8:31 KJV
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;__Ephesians 6:13-17 KJV
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.__Romans 3:4 KJV
