When I first encountered this verse it was probably in an Our Daily Bread devotional. I had seen and heard it before but I avoided it. What I mean is, I would not make it personal. Because when I say Thank you, I really mean it. Maybe not on the Oscar acceptance speech level, but I am grateful; not entitled. But it just did not seem practical or even possible to give thanks in everything and really mean it.
- When I receive a gift
- When someone provides a service for me
- When someone says something kind or thoughtful
- When someone tells me the truth “in love”
- When someone takes the blame for something that I have done
Well God does all that AND MORE! Jesus did it ALL. What do I have that God hasn’t given me?

It wasn’t a feeling. It was a decision to change my perception and deliberately look for the good in everything. Then as I matured , I looked for the God in everything . . . . . Because
