If you’ve just dropped in for the first time , “Welcome, Welcome, Welcome” lol. Earlier this month, I began talking about saying “No Thanks” and “I’ll pass” during this Thanksgiving Holiday season . Now, I find myself back at the table on this Thanksgiving Eve.
For me, a great meal is just incomplete without something sweet. To some, gossip is a juicy morsel. It may be tempting, but I prefer the truth. I am just wired that way. Any way, Gossip has an aftertaste. (lol) I find the truth is generally funny and profitable to give my time and attention to. And Bible Proverbs are like little candied “truth-drops.” Have one?
As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion. Proverbs 11:22 KJV As my grandmother would say, “Pretty is as pretty does.” and ” Err on the side of caution.”
It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house. Proverbs 25:24 KJV Peace is priceless.
And one of the first proverbs I put into practical use is:
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. Proverbs 29:11KJV (emphasis added) Silence is GOLDEN. . . and You can’t un-ring a bell. lol
On tomorrow, if you find yourself sitting at a table with a “turkey”, consider this: “Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.” (Proverbs 26:4 KJV ) . And for goodness sake, please determine in advance, so say “No Thank you” to . . . . .
