In yesterday’s blog post I said “No Thank You” to the “turkey” of offense. Here are few other sides I have decided to say ” I’ll pass” to:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.__2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
I have heard fear defined as the acronym for: false evidence appearing real. It works for me because the way I have effectively confronted fear in the past was by looking at the obstacle in the light of God’s word. As a child, I recall the night after my great grandmother’s funeral, I saw a ghost in a flowing white shroud lurking in the corner of my dark room. I don’t know how I fell asleep, but in the morning light I discovered it was the ironing board. (lol). Maybe that is why I have patterned ironing board covers now. Anyway, when I consider the the worse case scenario from God’s perspective; I realize that if God allows it, He will bring some thing good out of it. (Romans 8:28)
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.__ Philipians 4:6-7 KJV
I am learning to substitute analyzing and strategizing with prayer.
Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”__ Joshua 1:6-9 KJV
Another direct instruction. Enough said.
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. __Proverbs 16:18 KJV
